In lower (Eastern) Assam, particularly Barpeta district, there is a festival called ‘Bhotheli’ in which the Banyan tree is worshiped and people take pledge to protect it. বসন্ত কালত নামনি অসমত পালন কৰা এক উংসৱ। নামনি অসমৰ, বিশেষকৈ বৰপেটা জিলাত পালন কৰা এক উৎসৱ, য`ত বটবৃক্ষক পূজা কৰা হয় আৰু ইয়াক ৰক্ষা কৰাৰ পণ কৰা হয়।
