1. (Proper Noun-Neuter) a township 5 km away from Sivasagar in Assam. This place derives its name from the largest of the water tanks called Jaysagar built by the Ahom Kings.(It is also one of the biggest men made tanks in India). King Rudrasingha made it dug to commemorate his mother Sati Jaymati. The town has three famous temples viz. JoyDol, Vishnu Dol and a Shiva Dol called the Ranganath Dol. শিৱসাগৰ চহৰৰ পৰা ৫ কিলোমিটাৰ দূৰত্বত থকা এখন ঠাই। ইয়াত জয়সাগৰ নামৰ এটা ডাঙৰ ঐতিহাসিক পুখুৰী আছে।
