1. (Common Noun-Neuter) A kind of plant that grows in water belonging to representative genus Nymphaea. Bears flower that resembles lotus, however, botanically water lily and lotus are different. In many asian countries the words water lily and lotus are used, interchangeably. পানীত ফুলা এবিধ ফুল৷
